Pelin Karaturhan
interaction designer, HCI/design researcher
I recently defended my PhD in the Design, Technology, and Society integrated PhD program at Koç University, Turkey.
My thesis research explored the design requirements of using conversational agents (smart assistants, chatbots, voice agents) for reflective conversations to improve daily psychological wellbeing.
In Koç University, I worked as a part of KARMA Mixed Reality Lab and KUAR Design Lab.
Throughout my PhD, I assisted and taught the 'Creative Thinking in Design' course, where we use speculative design, design fiction, worldbuilding, and design thinking methodologies to trigger creativity in the design process. I also employ speculative design, design fiction, and related approaches in my research.
